The boys have been their usual little selves today, and I've enjoyed hearing Big Brother and Little One play together in their bedroom. I had no idea a 4 year old and a 10 month old could have so much in common! But from their room I hear lots of giggles and laughing, like they are sharing secrets they I am not to know about. But then...Big Bothers new best friend, our 80 year old landlord has arrived to work in the shop, and off he runs to do who know what with this man that has become a sort of built in Great Grandpa. He calls Big Brother "The Boy" which is very funny because that is what daddy calls him.
There are days when I don't see Big Brother for an hour at a time because he off "working" in the shop, or going for a ride on the 4-wheeler.

Little one soon notices that Big Brother is gone and goes looking for him. He crawls into the bedroom and living room looking for his best Friend and playmate, only to return to me whining because he can't find him. What to do now? The toys just don't seem as fun as they were when Big Brother was playing with them.
But before he can get to concerned, the screen door slams shut and Big Brother has returned with a smile and some more energy to play with Little One.
Soon they both will be running outside to play and get dirty and come back with bruised knees and lots of stories. But until then, I think I will enjoy those sweet moments of giggles behind closed doors, and the neediness of a "little one", when "big brother" has gone outside to play.
